Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for Web Developer. This is a full-time, 12 month, exempt position located in Upland, Indiana. Resumes will be accepted until position is filled.

The Web Developer directs and manages all taylor.edu web efforts for efficiency and technical SEO value/authority. This position works alongside the Digital Content Writer and Digital Designer and responds objectively to analytics and best practices to keep taylor.edu optimized for traffic.
Develop, implement and analyze external web applications based on web development best practices
Build sustainable, reusable code
Assist a web team with the maintenance of content, content advisement and training, web analytics, and user testing
Manage web ticket requests and student support staff
Optimize the website and digital web assets for maximum speed and scalability
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders across campus
Ensure the user experience on the external website supports the enrollment goals of the university
Maintain current and relevant expertise in technologies and best practices
All candidates should possess the following:
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
Experience with CMS environment(s), dotCMS experience a plus
Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms
Competent with command line tools
Working knowledge of responsive design
Familiarity coding for ADA compliance
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions
• Solid understanding of SEO principles
