The Department of Education at Geneva College invites qualified applications and nominations for a tenure-track faculty position in Literacy Education at the assistant/associate professor level beginning August 2021. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate classes in literacy methods as well as other education classes as needed, advising, and participation in departmental and college committees. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to Christian higher education. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their doctorate by the time of hiring. Candidates who are ABD or those with a Master’s degree planning to work on a doctorate will be considered. The successful candidate must have experience in K-12 education as a teacher, administrator, or specialist, and must have a Reading Specialist certification. Review of applications will begin February 2021 and will continue until the position is filled. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The Education Department has approximately 125 undergraduate students in elementary, middle, secondary, and special education programs. The department is dedicated to preparing students to be competent professional teachers committed to excellence and integrity who can identify and analyze educational issues from a Christian perspective.
