Job Description: The Business Office Administrator’s primary objective is to ensure that the activities of the office run smoothly. The Business Office Administrator has the responsibility to manage the financial & business administration of the college under the direction of the CFO. SUM has a five million dollar operating budget.
Finance / Accounting • Ensure that financial systems within the school meet the requirements of the financial management framework, follow the sound practice, have clear accountability, and are closely monitored. • Assist CFO with the annual budget process • Assist CFO with annual audits of the school’s financial records and Title IV funds (A-133) • Resolve Student Information System (SIS) issues with the third party software company • Coordinate property management with the outside Management company • Supervise the work of the business office personnel and use standard accounting and bookkeeping procedures to keep an accurate continuous record of the cash and financial position • Ensure students are staying current with their financial commitments • Manage risk at the school to ensure the safety of personnel and students in their use of the facilities • Order office equipment & supplies • Oversee the issuance of book voucher system with students and outside vendor
Knowledge & Experience Essential: BS in Business administration/accounting or equivalent experience • Proficiency in QuickBooks • Proficiency in MS Office products, especially Excel & Word • Managerial Experience • Relevant leadership experience • Knowledge and experience of a variety of financial management systems and processes and procedures • Experience with motivating and leading reporting staff • A working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation Desirable: • Awareness and understating of school/finance/resources management information systems • Working knowledge of Campus Vue or Campus Management software
