CCCU institutions are located around the world. Though they are diverse in size, scope, and mission, they are each committed to faith-integrated higher education.
The Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) oversees the development, execution, and expansion of educational programs (degree and non-degree) and services. The VPAA leads and directs all faculty members (including associated faculty), Associate Deans, and administrative staff in the Educational Programs office. As a member of the Executive Leadership Council, the VPAA works collaboratively with other senior leadership to determine the strategy and direction of the institution.
Execute strategic executive leadership of the institution as a voting member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) and operationalize ELC decisions affecting academic programs.
Oversee and create accountabilities for curriculum development, instructional modes, assessment, and execution and delivery of all academic programs.
Ensure that diverse nationalities, ethnicities and cultures are engaged in shaping the educational experience and institutional culture of Denver Seminary. Oversee the work of the Associate Dean for Diversity and Programs of Ethnic Communities.
Oversee delivery of all educational services including Library, Educational Technology, Extension Sites, and Educational Systems. Supervise Associate Deans, Director of Library Services, Director of the DMin and Division Chairpersons.
Drive innovation and expansion in all academic programs to achieve enrollment growth.
Establish and manage all budgets associated with the Educational Programs Department, including all grant or donor-funded budgets.
Oversee the processes for faculty employment, evaluation, development, and promotion according to policies established in the Faculty Handbook.
Ensure all policies in the Faculty Handbook are clear, up-to-date, and executed consistently.
Serve as ex-officio member of all faculty committees.
Ensure full compliance with all appropriate accreditation standards and oversee the completion of required self-study and interim reports to accrediting agencies.
Convene, set the agenda, and chair all faculty meetings; execute decisions made by the faculty.
Ensure the high level execution of all academic events including convocation, fall graduate recognition, commencement, committee meetings, faculty retreat, etc.
Collect and relate data from student performance to needed improvements in systems, personnel, or curricula and enact those changes.
Represent the work of the Educational Programs Department and the faculty to the Board of Trustees.
