The Psychology Department at Simpson University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in psychology. Area of expertise is open and experience in faculty leadership is preferred. The successful candidate should be able to teach general courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology) and upper-level courses in his or her area of expertise. We seek candidates who strive to be master teachers, can develop an active research program that involves undergraduate student researchers, and are committed to professional development. Experience working with under-represented student populations is desired. Experience in Degree Completion, Graduate, or online education also a plus.
A doctorate in psychology is required. Rank is open and dependent on candidate’s qualifications. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective classroom teaching, be able to articulate an understanding of multiculturalism, and demonstrate a successful record of inclusive excellence in education. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a commitment to their Christian faith and be supportive of the goals and values of Simpson University. To be considered, candidates must submit a letter of interest, curriculum vita, three letters of reference, and a personal essay that includes a statement of faith and discussion of how they integrate Christianity with teaching and psychology.
