Faculty, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Position Announcement
The School of Graduate Studies at Messiah University invites applications for a full time term-tenure track faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Rank is open and will be determined based on qualifications. The faculty member will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Musculoskeletal, Neurologic, Cardiopulmonary, Pediatrics, and Integumentary. In addition, the Program is also seeking faculty who bring additional expertise in research, pharmacology, pain science, and clinical experience in inpatient settings. This is a 12-month position.
Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise that align with departmental needs. Faculty members are also expected to maintain an active scholarly agenda, advise graduate students, and engage in institutional service.
Qualifications: Academic terminal degree (PhD, EdD, or ScD) is required. Current PA PT license (or eligible for PA licensure). Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience. ABPTS board certification in area of expertise preferred. Previous college teaching experience preferred. Candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching.
The Program: Messiah University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is designed to prepare competent therapists for meaningful careers as practitioners, educators, administrators and consultants in a variety of professional settings including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, homecare programs, schools and private practices. Our program is a full-time, residential, 110-credit program.
The School: Advancing the mission of Messiah University, the School of Graduate Studies educates students for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, ethical leadership and exceptional professional practice within a complex world. Our programs include ten master’s degrees, two doctoral degrees, and numerous graduate certificates and post-master’s certificates. The coursework for most of our graduate programs is conducted primarily online, with some programs being fully online and others being fully residential. Messiah University is a nationally ranked, accredited college that successfully integrates top-tier academics and Christian faith.

Compensation: Messiah University offers a strong benefits package in addition to salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
