Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Presidents/Chancellors
Are you an entrepreneur who has effectively started up degree programs, launched new schools and departments, and sustained their growth and vitality? Are you looking for another challenge to design new international programs and use cutting edge technology to reach student populations? Are you interested in developing and sustaining practical graduate education that prepares professional church leaders who are local community developers and change agents? Are you a senior professor, a retiring college/university administrator or a para-church leader who is looking for a new challenge or who has a sense of a different calling?
The Board of Directors for the International Graduate School of Ministry is in search of a President and Chief Executive Officer. We seek a leader with a global perspective who enjoys building and sustaining Christian learning communities across different cultures and uses a strategic and systems approach to delivering high-quality services. Our future President has been an effective fundraiser and donor developer.
The International Graduate School of Ministry [IGSM] has served women and men in a number of countries for the past 12 years. Today, we serve students in Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, and the United States. Our Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry curricula attract adult learners who are community leaders or want to become professional church ministers. The curriculum content is provided in three digital formats depending on student access to the Internet. Using an asynchronistic approach, our students learn by a combination of distance learning and live learning which employ adult learning practices. Because we aim to graduate practitioners, we use mentors, coaches, and small peer-group methods to facilitate turning biblical principles into practice.
As an innovative and forward-looking School, IGSM is a lean organization that is lithe and entrepreneurial. With our new President, we anticipate expanding into a number of global geographic regions in Western and Eastern Europe, Eastern and Western Asia, and South America. Our President would actively identify new locations, develop local support networks, gain local and national support for the school, and actively fundraise.
Our next President should be a Christian with a terminal degree who has demonstrated evidence of sustaining the growth and vitality of nascent organizations. A strategist and implementer, the Presidential candidate would prize collaborative efforts with the Board, faculty, students, and donors. Effective at setting fiscal year objectives and action plans, the candidate can persuasively draw constituents into the vision as well as the immediate. The presidential candidate has demonstrated skills in building an organizational culture characterized by genuine humility, wholeness, acceptance, love, and forgiveness. And while a transformative leader, our President is comfortable conforming to the influence of the Holy Spirit before taking action.
Ideally, our future President will have financial resources that will provide the primary income for the forthcoming three years while the School expands into new regions, and fundraising yields substantive results. Our President will find great satisfaction in achieving significant results with modest resources. Candidates will enjoy international travel, providing leadership and administrative oversight across different time zones and cultures.
Give Presidential voice internally and externally to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the authority of Scriptures and the flourishing of Christ’s church through the rapid spread of the Gospel.
Model professional and personal integrity, exemplifying the integration of faith, academic discipline, and spiritual leadership.
Nurture a community of Christian scholars and practitioners, inspiring excellence in teaching, preaching, research and service.
Serve as a teaching member of the faculty.
Shape and communicate a compelling vision for the School that is developed collaboratively and translated into plans and policies to be approved by the Board.
Recruit and develop a faculty of the highest caliber.
Utilize the principles and techniques of management with excellent strategic planning and management skills, including the ability to lead a team in an efficient and positive manner through effective communication, strong leadership, and excellent organizational skills in a dynamic working environment.
Lead and participate directly in expanding School resources, being particularly active in fund and friend-raising for the variety of campuses.
Deepen relationships with alumni/ae, other churches, coordinators, foundations, accrediting agencies, and professional associations, and explore new partnerships and alliances in support of the School and its mission.
