Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Business/Financial Management
4 Year Degree
Under the direct supervision of the Finance Office, the financial analyst prepares cost accounting reports (“Cost Study Analysis”), develops financial models (“financial proformas”), develops and maintains statistical models and reports, and prepares projections, analyzes variances, and reports findings. Assists with preparing reports and financial presentations.
Assist with monthly variance analysis.
Analyze spending patterns and report findings and recommendations.
Analyze business office practices to identified costs savings.
Analyze Credit Card purchases for PCard program.
Partner with Senior Director of Finance & Treasury and Director of Accounting proposing improvements to ongoing budget management and communication/instruction to departments.
Review cross functional financial processes and procedures to ensure consistency across campus and identify departments that are operating under outdated methods.
Assist Director of Accounting with account classifications and chart of account analysis toward creating real-time financial statements.
Support Institutional research to develop and maintain Business Office dashboard highlighting known KPI’s; identify additional metrics.
Ability to quickly find and display supporting documentation for all analysis completed.
Become fully familiar with the COMP4cast model and provide input into its updating.
Work with institution research to identify mechanisms for business unit performance institution wide
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel
SQL knowledge a plus
Strong planning and organizational skills
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Ability to achieve results and resolve problems within a fast-changing technical environment
Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Higher education experience required
Minimum 4-year college education in relevant field of study
