The Behavioral Sciences Department has an opening for the Director of the Social Work Program. This is a full-time undergraduate position that will begin in the Fall of 2020.
Direct the Social Work program in the area of CSWE Accreditation reaffirmation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to the field of social work.
Demonstrate teaching competence in Social Welfare Policy, Ethnic Diversity, Spirituality and Social Work, Ethics and Practice, and other general Social Work courses.
Advise students in academic program and career objectives.
Engage student recruitment, retention, and program development.
Perform tasks related to assessment of student learning.
Serve as a spiritual model through Christian lifestyle.
Demonstrate commitment to the university mission of preparing individuals for a life of service and leadership in the church and in the world.
Be a collegial member of a dynamic, interactive faculty.
Participate in commencement and the life of the university.
Full time faculty teaches an equivalent of a 9-credit course load per semester including advising students with 3-hour release time for administrative tasks needed for directing the program.
Serve on faculty committees as assigned.
Experience in successful leadership of a social work program is preferred.
A MSW from a CSWE-accredited program with two years full-time post-MSW employment in social work is required for appointment as an associate/ assistant professor.
Preference given to candidates with DSW or PhD in social work.
Preference given to candidates with teaching experience on the university level.
Must be supportive of the ethos and doctrine of the Assemblies of God.
