Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan invites applications for a traditional undergraduate nursing director position to begin August 2020. The position is classified as a full-time tenure-track faculty role with rank and base salary dependent upon educational and professional qualifications, along with experience. Candidates should be able to teach a variety of nursing courses and have an eagerness to lead an inaugural program. Local connections (&/or ability to create them), a good reputation in the nursing community, complete buy-in with professional accreditation value, an optimistic magnetism and ability to find the excitement in a start up opportunity are also necessary qualities. Preference will be given to those with experience and expertise in teaching and academic leadership. Other responsibilities include scholarly engagement in the nursing profession, academic advising, accreditation, student and faculty recruitment, and other departmental duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of master’s degree in nursing and at least be matriculating through a terminal degree program such as PhD or DNP, unencumbered RN license in Michigan and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate leadership and teaching. Each candidate must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment and a theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University evidenced by affirming the university’s doctrinal statement, “The Cornerstone Confession.”
