Position Summary Toccoa Falls College is seeking a dynamic leader for a full-time (12-month), Director of Athletics. This position reports directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs. The Athletic Director works with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to manage all aspects of the intercollegiate athletic programs and maintains compliance with the NCCAA. The Director will be the strongest advocate and voice for all athletic programs, to all stakeholders. The Director must possess a commitment to spiritual development, academic excellence, and athletic excellence. The Director may or may not have coaching responsibilities. The Director will be actively involved in fundraising in cooperation with the Office of Institutional Advancement and is expected to develop and maintain a strong athletic fundraising program.
Toccoa Falls College is committed to a growing athletic program that develops student athletes both on the field and inside the classroom. TFC Athletics is currently comprised of 6 sports teams: men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and men’s baseball. The Director will be expected to develop and implement a strategic plan for the athletic department focusing on increasing team rosters, developing new sports programs, improving the fundraising arm of the department, improving athletic facilities, and improving the experience for student athletes, fans, and visitors.
Direct supervision of all athletic staff members and coaches.
Responsible for the development, maintenance, and adjustment of the Departmental operational budget.
Responsible for the development and management of all TFC intercollegiate athletic teams, including but not limited to:
oversee the budget and day-to-day operations of the department.
annually compile and process the eligibility information required by the NCCAA for each student athlete.
oversee the process of generating, collecting, and maintaining medical and insurance paperwork for all student athletes and for injured athletes, as needed.
facilitate regular coaches & support staff meetings.
Develop and oversee all promotional and financial activities of the Eagle Club, the TFC Athletics booster club.
Attend all meetings and conferences with the NCCAA and maintain regular contact to ensure compliance and requirements are being met.
In conjunction with the Vice President for Student Affairs, responsible for all strategic planning for the athletic department.
Manage communication with faculty regarding student athlete absences connected to athletic contests as well as student athlete academic progress.
Serve on faculty committees involving Athletics, as needed.
Ensure accountability with student athletes who are outside of individual sport team rules.
Coordinate with Housing and Residence Life any issues related to student athletes and violations of student life policies.
Responsible for the assessment and evaluation of programs and services within the Athletic Department.
Responsible for employee performance evaluation and review of all reporting staff.
Develop and maintain monthly Departmental reports.
Assist in revisions to the student handbook as it relates to Department content.
Provide support to students and families in emergency situations, as needed.
Availability on evenings and weekends, as needed.
Coordinate with the Student Government Association regarding programs occurring in conjunction with athletic events.
Partner effectively with other Student Affairs Departments on retention issues related to athletes.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in athletic administration.

Master’s degree in a related field applicable to the position duties.
Proven experience in athletic recruitment.

Physical Requirements Must be able to climb steps, lift objects and boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
