The Department of Psychology in the School of Human Behavior welcomes applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses such as Statistics, Research Methods, Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Theories of Personalities, Abnormal Psychology, Field Practicum, and upper level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The appointment will begin in August 2020. Position Applicants will need to demonstrate teaching competencies in both lecture and field courses that will include the candidate’s specialty area as well as other specific needs in the department. The position also requires that the faculty member be available for advising of students, have a willingness to serve on college committees, and assist in curriculum development and recruitment opportunities. Faculty development through scholarship activities is encouraged with some funding available through an endowment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must be familiar with word processing software and have a basic understanding of computers and their application in an academic setting
Ability to motivate students to excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to teach through a variety of mechanisms to effectively instruct students
A Ph.D. in Psychology is required by the time of appointment. ABD candidates with planned completion date by August 15, 2020, may also be considered. A successful background check is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience, evidence of scholarly activity, and a desire to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
