The GRADUATE PROGRAM IN NURSING at Messiah College invites applications for a full-time faculty member. This faculty position will include a teaching load and an administrative load to oversee the start-up of the newly approved online RN to BSN program and provide leadership for the existing online Master of Science in Nursing and CAGS programs.
Please note that while this position teaches and coordinates online programs, this role requires a regular presence at our Mechanicsburg, PA campus.
Teaching Responsibilities: This faculty member will teaching in both the RN to BSN and the MSN programs in his/her area of expertise.
Administrative Responsibilities: Primary administrative duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring that curriculum meets accreditation and institutional standards
Writing or overseeing the writing of each new online RN to BSN nursing courses
Collaborating with Assistant Dean of Nursing to hire qualified adjuncts
Oversee advising process
Collaborate with Assistant Dean of Nursing to develop, maintain, collect and analyze student learning assessment plan
Approve all capstone MSN projects
Collaborate with Assistant Dean of Nursing to prepare faculty load assignments
Ensure appropriate clinical placements for students
Oversee contractual agreements with clinical agencies
Collaborate with DON Clinical Liaison to assure student compliance with requirements for clinical placements
Assist graduate enrollment with establishing/achieving student recruitment and retention goals
Respond in a timely manner to all inquiries from perspective students
Participate in recruiting and develops positive recruiting partnerships
Review applicant files and communicate admissions decisions in a timely manner
Represent the College at professional meetings and in the community, serving as an effective spokesperson for the program
Collaborate with administrative assistant and clinical placement staff
Qualifications: Candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching. Preference given to those with understanding of adult learning theory and online learning best practices.
Holds an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state of PA
Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP)
Maintains certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE).

The nursing program enjoys a reputation for high quality classroom and clinical instruction producing well-prepared graduates who are preferred for hire in local and regional health care institutions. The baccalaureate and master’s degree programs in nursing at Messiah College are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education http://www.ccneaccreditation.org. The DNP/FNP program will undertake accreditation in March, 2020.
