Position Summary: The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at North Park University seeks applications for a full-time (9-month), tenure-track faculty member in the Masters of Counseling Psychology Program (MACP) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 2020. SPS is seeking a candidate who will contribute to the continued growth of the program especially as it seeks CACREP accreditation.
The successful candidate will teach 24 semester credit hours per year based on his/her qualifications and needs of the program. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students through their progression in the MACP program, implementation of a scholarly agenda, and participation in SPS team meetings, university-wide service, and events. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Interested candidates should review the North Park Faculty Application and prepare of letter of intent, a curriculum vitae, the required essays within the faculty application, unofficial transcripts from each college attended, teaching evaluations, and should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent independently. D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education
Previous teaching experience in higher education
Licensed professional counselor or eligible for licensure as a mental health counselor
Actively engaged in the counseling profession
Knowledge of and experience with CACREP standards
Maintain an active membership to a recognized professional counseling association (American Counseling Association, ACA preferred)
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Ability to incorporate the university’s city-centered, intercultural, and Christian core values into teaching and service
Graduate of a CACREP accredited program
Evidence of advocacy/professional service, research or scholarly activities in counseling.
Experience teaching in an accelerated learning format
This individual will report to the Dean of the School of Professional Studies (SPS) and will work closely with other faculty and staff in SPS.
