Calvin University is seeking a Director of Undergraduate Admissions to lead the institution in undergraduate recruitment efforts.
The Director of Admissions is responsible for planning, implementing and executing effective strategies to attract and enroll new undergraduate students. This position will provide leadership and supervision for the admissions department to ensure successful execution and meeting of enrollment goals; promote the mission and vision of Calvin University to prospective student, their families and admissions staff in compelling ways; partner with campus-wide units and external constituents in collaborative recruitment efforts in order to meet strategic plan and enrollment goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Execute recruitment strategies, tactics and initiatives: Lead the admissions department in the continued cultivation of current markets and the identification and development of new target markets through various strategies, tactics and initiatives. Track and measure progress and outcomes; ensure work is assessed and adapted for efficiency and effectiveness; manage subsequent systems and processes. Understand the competitive market position and differentiators of Calvin in order to position and promote the institution.
Manage a comprehensive, data-driven recruitment and admissions program: Attract, admit and retain qualified students in accordance with enrollment and university goals; Collect, analyze, and use marketing and admissions data to assess internal practices and inform college planning efforts. Use data and analysis to promote the effective performance management of admissions teams and their staff to achieve enrollment goals. Provide regular reports on recruitment progress to college leadership according to needs and interests.
Align recruitment efforts: Coordinate efforts within the admissions department to deploy and/or adapt strategies related to market development, student recruitment and engagement, and visits and hospitality based on needs and opportunities. Partner with departments such as Communications and Marketing, Alumni, etc. in these efforts.
Ensure optimal deployment of college resources:Develop and administer an annual admissions operating budget; Ensure that the College's admissions process for all student populations is aligned with institutional goals and implements best practices within the higher education industry.
Develop policies, procedures and practices to enhance recruitment, admission, scholastic performance, and retention of students; Be familiar with and enforce college policies and regulations and state and federal laws; actively utilize new and existing technology/software. Ensure excellent hospitality to visiting students and their families.
Communicate and collaborate with college deans, vice presidents, faculty, staff, coaches and others involved with recruiting and admitting students to insure appropriate enrollment management and planning through: Participation on campus-wide committees; chairing the Committee on Admissions; Reporting on departmental achievements and challenges to college leadership, Governing Board, faculty and staff.
Provides strategic oversight and direction to the to the staff of the Office of Admissions.
Directly responsible for a team of Associate and Assistant Directors who lead the daily operations; coordinate and evaluate the Admission office function and staff.
