The division of Professional Studies at Eastern Nazarene College invites mission fit applicants for a full-time, tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level, teaching courses in the Business Program. We seek candidates with expertise in Finance/Accounting who are interested in teaching core and upper level accounting/finance classes as well as general educational courses to meet the needs of the Business Program including managing finance/accounting internships. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate teaching excellence and who have a desire to serve in the context of an urban Christian liberal arts institution in the Wesleyan tradition. Minimum qualifications include a Masters in Finance or Accounting and professional experience in the industry.
The successful applicant will carry a teaching load of 24 credits (typically eight three-credit courses) per academic year, primarily in the areas of Finance/Accounting.Typical courses in this area include: Advanced Managerial Finance, Money & Banking, Global Finance, Investments, Intermediate Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Auditing. The candidate’s expertise and interests will determine other courses.
The successful applicant will participate in the development and improvement of curricula and courses.
Other responsibilities will include advising, committee work, attendance at faculty meetings and commencement, and service to the business program, college, and community.
Have completed a doctorate in Business or a related field. Applications from candidates currently enrolled in a doctoral program will also be accepted.Applicants without a doctorate or not in a doctoral program must be willing to pursue one soon after hire.
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Applicants with other kinds of teaching experience will be considered.
Demonstrate an active relationship with Christ as expressed in faith and service, which is in accord with the mission of Eastern Nazarene College and display a philosophy of Christian higher education consistent with the college’s Wesleyan tradition.
