Ouachita Baptist University and the Michael D. Huckabee School of Education announce an opening in the Department of Kinesiology and Leisure Studies. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position, at the instructor rank to begin August 1, 2020 and will involve the teaching of a variety of courses leading to a BA degree in Kinesiology and Leisure Studies.
Candidates must embrace the mission of Ouachita Baptist University and demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and learning.
QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate preferred, master’s required in Exercise Science with additional certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and experience in exercise physiology, exercise assessment and prescription, strength and conditioning, as well as health-related courses in the general education curriculum.
Excellence in teaching, advising, and university/community service is expected. Scholarly activity is highly encouraged. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and scholarship. Working collaboratively with colleagues in the department, school, and university is essential.
Professional certification (ACSM) as an Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) or Clinical Exercise Physiologist is preferred. Experience with online teaching and instructional technology is highly desirable.
