Friends University invites applications for a full-time one year visiting faculty member in Mechanical Engineering for the 2020-2021 academic year. This position is a nine-month faculty appointment and reports to the Chair of the Division of Natural Science and Mathematics. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field with successful teaching experience. Candidates who hold an MS in Engineering will also be considered.

EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assignments in teaching are based upon the candidate’s credentials and the division’s curricular needs. Courses could include Engineering Orientation, Manufacturing Processes, Engineering Graphics, Senior Projects, Basic Instrumentation, and others. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in recruiting prospective students for the Mechanical Engineering program.
The successful candidate will hold a MS in an Engineering field with a Ph.D. preferred, and prior higher ed. teaching experience is desired.
The university prefers to hire a candidate who holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years college teaching experience and a record of scholarly achievement.
Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience.
