Scope of Responsibilities:
Provide enterprise systems support by applying analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve business and systems issues to maximize the benefit of IT investments. This position will create and maintain integrations between software applications as well as program development in support of new or changed software requirements.
1. Database Analysis and Programming:
Develop and/or modify processes and information flows that enhance the utilization of our application software portfolio.
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging them.
Create ad-hoc and permanent reports using various available query tools.
Run special reports and procedures that may not be processed by end users.
Work with end users to resolve any data integrity issues that may occur.
2. Database Administration:
Assist other IT staff with matters related to the security, performance, and maintenance of our Microsoft SQL database environment:
Maintain user profiles, resource permissions, and privileges.
Maintain required security controls around data and databases.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics and allocate resources as needed.
Perform upgrade planning along with software installs and upgrades.
3. User Training:
As needed, provide users with guidance in the use of applications in the school’s IT software portfolio.
Collaborate with other IT staff members and contribute to departmental long-range planning and other IT initiatives.
Provide other departmental assistance as directed by supervisor.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum one year of related job experience with SQL programming.
Must possess a high degree of technical skill in programming, database schema, and generating ad-hoc reports.
Familiarity with advanced features of MS Office Suite.
Working knowledge of PHP and Windows Powershell scripting languages.
Experience with reporting software solutions that include Sybase Infomaker, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Izenda
Experience with Jenzabar EX Enterprise Resource Planning software.
