Milligan College seeks a Director for its on-campus Counseling Center. The Counseling Center serves students, faculty, and staff who desire support, assessment, traditional counseling, and referrals. The Center also provides clinical support for Milligan’s Master of Science in Counseling program. Requirements include a master’s degree, licensure as an LPC, a minimum of five years’ experience in counseling (preferably in a college or university setting), and certification as a clinical supervisor in his/her respective field. A clear understanding of Christian higher education as well as having a heart for service and for university students is essential. The candidate must also have good organizational, relational, and social skills, as well as the ability to handle situations with appropriate urgency, professionalism, and confidentiality. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to integrate and articulate Christian faith within an academically grounded graduate counseling program residing in a liberal arts institution. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, commitment to the Milligan Mission Statement, and a lifestyle consistent with the College’s goals.
The Director is responsible for the counseling services provided to clients at the Milligan College Counseling Center. This includes providing counselors-in-training with live supervision/coaching as well as individual and group meetings to provide feedback and learning/growth opportunities and staffing of cases. The Director also provides direct counseling services when counselors-in-training are not available, supervises office support staff, promotes services for the Counseling Center on and off campus, and serves on appropriate campus committees. In addition, the Director may be used as an adjunct professor responsible for practicum and/or internship classes.
