CCCU institutions are located around the world. Though they are diverse in size, scope, and mission, they are each committed to faith-integrated higher education.
Responsible to provide excellence in teaching through the fulfillment of the mission and strategic goals of the Department of Computing, Data, and Mathematical Sciences.
Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Data Analytics and Statistics or related Mathematics according to the successful candidate’s interests and expertise. A commitment to excellence in teaching, academic advising, and student recruitment is expected. Other responsibilities include holding office hours, participating in department meetings, fulfilling assigned departmental duties, participating in committee work, and other functions as requested by the Department Chair, Dean, or Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide quality instruction in 24 credits of classes per academic year.
Encourage spiritual growth in students by presenting one’s discipline within the context of a Christian worldview.
Provide academic advising to approximately twenty students per year.
Assist in recruiting students for majors in the department.
Abide by all University policies.
Because our community is a significant part of our mission and the development of our students, all employees act as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ by actively partnering with the University to disciple students in growing intellectually and spiritually, and with Northwestern Media to lead people to Christ and nurture believers to mature in their faith.
Secondary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Engage students outside of class during regularly-scheduled office hours.
Participate in department meetings and faculty meetings.
Participate in commencement ceremonies in May and December.
Fulfill assigned departmental duties.
Participate in committee work.
Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduate degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field required; Ph.D. preferred
Experience teaching Data Analytics courses or applying Data Analytics in industry is preferred
Significant business experience in Data Analytics preferred
Previous teaching experience at the college/university level preferred
Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
Ability to integrate Christian worldview into classroom instruction
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills
Ability to type 30 wpm and to efficiently and accurately use the computer to carry out job responsibilities
Understanding of and agreement with Northwestern’s Declaration of Christian Community and Doctrinal Statement is essential
Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
Work Environment: The work environment involves working in a suburban, Christian university, working alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of the University, and an agreement to abide by all University policies.
