CCCU institutions are located around the world. Though they are diverse in size, scope, and mission, they are each committed to faith-integrated higher education.
The Dean is responsible for providing visionary leadership for the Simpson University nursing program; guiding the continued development of this program including its structure, policies and procedures, interaction with the University, and assessment of effectiveness. This position also oversees day-to-day responsibilities for running the program.
Minimum of Master’s degree in nursing science
Hold a valid, active license as a Registered Nurse
Minimum of two years teaching in a pre- or post- licensure nursing program
Minimum of one year experience as registered nurse providing direct patient care
Demonstrated experience in academic program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation preferred
Experience working with and mentoring adult learners
Ability to work with people in various roles and organizations
A creative, passionate, competent and entrepreneurial academic leader
Ability to collaborate and build partnerships within the Simpson community as well as local and professional community
Personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by a vibrant Christian faith and a commitment to Christian community; capable of sharing faith and engaging in conversations about Christ and the integration of faith, learning and living.

Develops and maintains the relationship between the School of Nursing and the university system, including, but not limited to, acting as a liaison with departments and administrators and with other nursing education program
Develops and implements academic policies and procedures for the School of Nursing in collaboration with the School of Nursing Faculty
Acts as a liaison with national and state accrediting agencies in collaboration with the School of Nursing Faculty
Achieves and maintains national and state accreditation for the university’s nursing programs in collaboration with the School of Nursing Faculty
Participates in activities that facilitate professional expertise in the areas of administration, teaching and maintenance of nursing competences
Participates in regional accreditation review and reports, as requested
Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing program curricula in collaboration with School of Nursing Faculty in accordance with national and state regulations, accreditation standards and university policy
Recommends methods for measuring student attainment of program learning outcomes to the university assessment department in collaboration with the School of Nursing Faculty
Oversee the assessment of the educational effectiveness of the program, including regular program review, course evaluations, faculty evaluations, exit interviews and graduate questionnaires
Applies and communicates accurately School of Nursing and university policies, procedures and rationales
Innovates effective teaching/learning principles for student success in the School of Nursing programs
Ensures proper administration of human resource policies and procedures as defined by the university
Oversee the recruitment, hiring, supervision and evaluation of staff and faculty personnel for the program
Participates in the annual budget planning process for the School of Nursing budget, including operating and capital expenditure
Manages the School of Nursing budget
Work with other Simpson University departments to provide services to the program’s students
Promote the program locally, regionally, and nationally
