Milligan College invites applications for a full time, tenure track position in Music – Piano and Music Theory, to begin fall 2020. Candidates should have a record of professional performing experience in piano as well as extensive knowledge in music theory. Candidates should also demonstrate successful teaching experience in applied piano for both electives and piano performance majors. Teaching will include undergraduate courses in applied piano for piano performance majors and in collaborative piano, keyboard skills courses for secondary students seeking to complete the required piano proficiency, basic and advanced music theory, piano pedagogy, and other courses deemed appropriate. Successful candidate must demonstrate an energetic and innovative spirit aimed at recruitment that will attract talented piano students and grow the piano program in quality and quantity. Candidate should have a doctoral degree in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, Collaborative Piano, or be ABD nearing completion in one of these areas.
