Gordon College invites applications for a non-tenure track position for a full-time chemistry appointment. The position will begin January 2020, for a term of 2.5 years. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Course coverage includes general chemistry and organic chemistry, along with advanced courses in the applicant’s area of expertise, such as environmental chemistry, medicinal chemistry, toxicology, or forensic chemistry.
The Chemistry Program is invigorated by our highly motivated students, newly equipped laboratories, ACS student chapter, and commitment to green chemistry education. Our faculty and students are actively engaged in research, outreach, and other avenues of professional development.
The ideal candidate will have:
a doctorate in chemistry completed by the time of the appointment
passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduates
flexibility to teach a broad range of students – first-semester through finishing seniors, perhaps including non-science majors in our core curriculum course
commitment to mentoring undergraduate research
strong commitment to the Christian mission of the college
