The Department of Physics and Engineering is working towards ABET accreditation and is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track teaching position in the area of Engineering. Responsibilities begin January 2020 and include teaching a wide variety of engineering topics and some introductory physics classes. Academic rank will be based on degrees and experience. The compensation level depends upon the education and experience of the appointee. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The Department is seeking an engineer, capable of excellent teaching, committed to significant involvement with students both within and outside of the classroom, and interested in engaging in departmental student research and service learning programs. The Department of Physics and Engineering has worked in partnership with the Department of Mathematical, Information and Computer Sciences to develop engineering degrees in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electrical Engineering (EE) which they plan on launching in the Fall of 2020. The university has renovated the Department’s building which includes all new physics and engineering labs and a 750 square foot Maker Space/Fab Lab.
The Department of Physics and Engineering currently offers a B.S. degree in Engineering Physics with emphasis in Mechanics and Electrodynamics, and B.S. and B.A. degrees in Physics. The department has a strong commitment to quality teaching, and a passion for building Christian community with students.
Teach in the area of engineering and lower division physics in all of the department’s programs
Engage in personal scholarship and scholarship with students
Advise students academically, spiritually and socially
Participate in departmental activities and governance
Serve on university faculty committees and perform other normal faculty duties
Education: Ph.D. in Engineering or a closely related field required.
Experience: Evidence of a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Evidence of professional activity in the discipline. Experience with engineering programs is a plus.
Philosophical: Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education. Desire to work in an evangelical institution in the Wesleyan tradition. Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination.
Personal: Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.

All applicants will be reviewed and evaluated. From this pool of applicants, a limited number will be selected for a final interview. The interview process will include:
