The Campus Pastor provides spiritual leadership for the IWU-Marion community at Indiana Wesleyan University. As a visionary leader, this individual will plan, promote, and administer spiritual and educational leadership through chapel programming and ministry initiatives. The Campus Pastor serves as a member of the IWU-Marion Cabinet, working closely with leadership to fulfill the goal of an integrated and holistic student experience.
The Campus Pastor reports directly to the IWU-Marion Chancellor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, execute, and be accountable for the highest quality of chapel programming that pursues an integrated approach to spiritual formation
Preach regularly, effectively and dynamically
Provide pastoral care to students, faculty, and staff
Provide innovative curriculum development for spiritual formation
Project planning, budgeting, management, and organizational leadership
Provide student and staff leadership development
Represent IWU in public settings for presentations as needed
Develop and administer the budget for the Campus Pastor’s Office
Serve as a member of the IWU-Marion Cabinet
Serves on university task forces, advisory committees, and councils as needed
Classroom teaching as qualifications permit
Performs other duties as assigned
Supervise office staff and student workers.
According to Indiana Wesleyan University’s employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
MDiv or related Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred
Ordained minister or equivalent licensure
Pastoral experience in a higher education setting highly preferred
Knowledge and experience recruiting, developing, and leading teams
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
?Clear call to, and understanding of, ministry in a university setting
Exceptional verbal and writing skills, capable of communicating persuasively with a wide variety of audiences, but especially with university students
Vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Effectively embraces and articulates the mission of Indiana Wesleyan University, including being an enthusiastic ambassador for the doctrines and practices of The Wesleyan Church
Collaborative and strategic leadership style is expected to effectively work with University leaders and stakeholders to foster healthy long-term relationships with the University’s many constituents
Influential interpersonal skills that develop long-term relationships and partnerships
