Department: Department of History & Political Science Reports to: History & Political Science Department Chair Position begins: Fall 2020
The Department of History & Political Science at Simpson University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Political Science beginning fall 2020, pending budgetary approval. Specialization is open, but the successful candidate should be prepared to teach upper-division courses in American politics, international relations, and comparative politics. Additionally, the ability to offer courses in the Criminal Justice track is a plus Application Process:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science or related field completed by August 2020. Evidence of teaching excellence, a promising research agenda, and professional activities is also required. The teaching load is 4/4 and includes introductory courses in Political Science and American Government as well as upper-division courses in Political Science. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduates, providing leadership in the pre-law society, and service to the campus and community. A commitment to the Christian mission of a small residential liberal arts institution is essential.
