Full-Time Faculty Position in Social Work
Simpson University is in the beginning stages of establishing both BA and MSW programs in Social Work, for which CSWE accreditation will be pursued. Presently, the psychology major has added a social work concentration that includes three cross-listed courses (Marriage and Family; Counseling Skills; & Social Psychology), Introduction to Sociology, and a year-long Field Experience component. The university is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member with leadership and program development experience who will be able to teach within the currently cross-listed and available courses, as well as potentially in our in person and online adult learning program, while continuing to establish and build the BA and MSW in Social Work programs. There will also be opportunities for the candidate to compose and offer electives within their area of expertise. The successful candidate is one who brings leadership and program development experience, strives to be a master teacher, can develop an active research program that involves undergraduate student researchers, and is committed to professional development, while working closely with the Psychology Department. Experience working with under-represented student populations is desired.

A doctorate in social work or social welfare is preferred; however, a candidate holding a MSW will be considered alongside their experience in the field and higher education. Rank open, dependent on candidate’s qualifications. Review of applications will begin November 1 and will continue until the position is filled. Under-represented applicants are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective classroom teaching, be able to articulate an understanding of multiculturalism, and demonstrate a successful record of inclusive excellence in education. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a commitment to their Christian faith and be sympathetic with the goals and values of Simpson University.
