JOB TITLE: Assistant Professor of Psychology, tenure track
DEPARTMENT: Behavioral and Social Sciences
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time salaried position based on a nine-month contract. Optional summer teaching load can be negotiated as a separate contract
REPORTS TO: Dr. Heather Kelly, Department Chair, Behavioral and Social Sciences

JOB OPPORTUNITY: o join a team of scholar-servants who teach with passion and purpose. This full-time, tenure-track faculty member is a scholar, statistician, researcher, mentor, and Christ-follower.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility will be to teach introductory statistics, research methods, experimental methods, and other elective courses in the behavioral and social sciences programs. A minimum of 12 credits per semester, 24 credits per year, are required. The applicant will facilitate student learning via high quality curriculum, advise students relative to their academic progress, and consult with students on ethics review board, design, or statistical aspects of their research projects. Moreover, a full time faculty member participates in department meetings and faculty committees as applicable, engages in events and traditions of the Evangel University community, mentors students academically and spiritually, as well as engages in ongoing professional and scholarly development. The successful applicant will be a positive, active, and creative team member.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in psychology or a related discipline from an accredited program, and will have both teaching and research experience. Additionally, a successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to work collaboratively with others, adaptive use of changing technologies that support teaching and learning, excellent organizational skills, and a capacity to give and receive feedback within a learning community. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate through prior accomplishments and behaviors, the ability to support Evangel University's core values of character, scholarship, culture, and service, as well as the university's strong student-centered vision and mission. The successful candidate must also be an active member of a church, Assemblies of God preferred.
