Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Admissions/Registrar
The Service Specialist works in Colorado Christian University's Service Central office, a department with integrated student service functions. The Service Specialist maintains excellent student support in the areas of financial aid, payment arrangements, and student accounts for students in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS). The ideal candidate supports telephone and email communication with students on all questions and concerns regarding financial aid and payment options.
Duties and Responsibilities
Respond to inbound phone calls and emails, and initiate outbound phone calls, assisting students in completing financial aid and payment arrangements.
Work with new students to answer questions and explain the financial aid process and payment options.
Troubleshoot account issues regarding payments, student aid, and financial arrangements.
Work collaboratively with internal constituencies to facilitate student’s financial aid completion.
Collaborate with lenders and Department of Education on communication of loan processing.
Understand and communicate CCU policy and processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Developing client relationships and supporting excellent customer service with internal and external constituencies.
Ability to communicate via telephone effectively regarding financial aid and payment arrangements.
Effective written communication; able to clearly articulate and explain financial aid policies and procedures.
Ability to process multiple tasks and resolve a wide variety of constituent issues.
Proficient in a computer environment and able to handle confidential information with integrity.
College degree preferred.
Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. Tasks will involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Occasional local travel and irregular hours are possible, including some nights and weekends.
