The Dean of Admissions (Dean) serves as one of the senior enrollment officers for the University. The Dean leads the Admission counselor staff, in accordance with the University mission, to recruit students who will “fit” in a distinctively Christian college environment. S/he fosters a “recruit to retain” philosophy to improve the University’s retention rates. The Dean represents the Admissions Office to internal and external constituencies and instills confidence in the policies, practices, and procedures for recruitment and admissions.
The primary function of the Dean of Admissions is to supervise recruitment efforts for traditional daytime, graduate, evening and online. In addition, the Dean is the primary Admissions department liaison with the offices of Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Athletics, and Residence Life when working with issues associated with recruitment. This individual works directly with the Admissions directors and counselors to facilitate the smooth function of daily operations as they relate to new student enrollment: processing of inquiries and applicants; handling of financial aid matters; and the management of the CRM software utilized in the recruitment of students. The position is a twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Vice President for Admissions
Ability to plan, develop, implement, market, and evaluate recruitment, marketing, an admissions programs and services for prospective students and parents.
Ability to mentor and motivate professional, clerical, and paraprofessional Admissions staff to meet and exceed enrollment goals.
Excellent organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and follow-up.
High level of initiative and motivation to achieve enrollment goals.
Excellent computer skills, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and data bases.
Understanding and commitment to achieving the University's mission.
Self-directed, proactive, visionary leader with the willingness to explore “best practices”for the Admissions Office.
Ability to fulfill Position Description requirements in a timely and effective manner.
Ability to be comfortable working with diverse populations and adapt to new situations.
