The Martin D. Walker School of Engineering and Technology of Olivet Nazarene University seeks a full-time permanent faculty member to support the Department of Computer Science and Emerging Technologies beginning January or August 2020. Salary and Rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits are competitive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Teach core and concentration computer and technology courses. 2. Participate in University service that may include advising and mentoring students, assisting with internships, advising student organizations, meeting with prospective students, and serving on University committees. 3. Scholarly research, consulting, grant writing, mission projects, and presentation at technical conferences are encouraged.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Students
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. A lifestyle in agreement with the ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant. 2. Professional certification(s) in the computing disciplines will be considered. 3. A passion for teaching and support of Olivet’s mission are essential. 4. Should be able to articulate the integration of the Christian faith and engineering practice.
EDUCATION Master’s degree in a Computer Science discipline is required. Professional certifications and/or an earned doctoral degree in the discipline is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The Department of Computer Science and Emerging Technologies is part of the Martin D. Walker School of Engineering and Technology and is located in the Reed Hall of Science on the main campus.
