Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Admissions/Registrar, Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Other
This position is in the Service Central office of the University, a department with integrated student service functions. The Admissions and Records Analyst assists with the administration of various records processing within the student information systems used by the University. This includes managing transactions, data documentation, and resolution to issues to support student admissions and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform transaction processes in student information systems pertaining to registrar and admissions operations, such as admission documents, transcript evaluation, degree audit, registration, course-section building, archiving student records, and other support services.
Prepare and run communication flows from within the student information system (Colleague), and help support hard-copy fulfillment when necessary.
Troubleshoot and analyze problems and identify solutions within applicable student systems.
Provide timely and courteous service when assisting all internal and external customers; answering, researching, recording, and resolving all questions related to student records.
Assist in all student record-keeping in maintaining confidentiality and required Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
Work to improve systems and communication between customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a business office environment; prior Registrar’s office experience preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail in dealing with student records and reporting requirements; ability to handle multiple unique tasks within a typical day with efficiency and accuracy.
Proficient with various computer applications; adept at learning quickly and using university software programs competently.
Outstanding customer services skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external constituencies.
Demonstrated sound judgment with sensitive information. Understands and applies confidentiality in accordance with University policies and federal regulations.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You may be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends.
