Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Information Systems/Technology

Responsible for the design, operation, and distribution of audio, video, and lighting systems for internal and external events specifically related to, and subject to the priorities of, the Music & Theatre department; builds trust with clients through effective communication and event preparation; participates and contributes to team professional development with ideas, experience, and training.
Team player and strong ability to create good will with students, faculty, staff, and community; servant attitude. Strong organizational skills and experience in project management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter, able to accomplish tasks with little follow-up.
Willingness to work an irregular schedule, be frequently on call, and be available to set up and manage AVL equipment for all events as needed. Work hours must conform to the needs of special events.
Commitment to the Articles of Faith, Mission, and Objectives of the University, and desires to be a role model for students by demonstrating an active Christian faith in personal example and in work-related interactions and responsibilities.
Designs, sets up, and facilitates lighting, audio, video systems and scenic services in various venues on the JBU campus, specifically, but not limited to, the Berry Performing Arts Center in direct support of Music & Theatre.
Supervises the operation and maintenance of the lighting and audio equipment, scene shop, costume shop, and recording studio located in the Barry Performing Arts Center.
Mentor student designers and AVL student technicians in professional technical theatre practices.
Provides technical oversight of the lighting, audio, and video recording of events and technical rehearsals for these events, including, but not limited to, theatre productions, recitals, and worship ministries classes.
Help coordinate production schedules.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of lighting for various stages including theatre, concerts, worship, and presentations, as well as setup, design, programing, aiming, and controlling lights during live events using both standard and intelligent lights.
Proficient in ETC Eos lighting control software.
Experience with technical theatre lighting and sound design and operation for complex music and theatre productions.
Knowledge of audio design and reinforcement including stage set-ups, operation of an audio board, and audio theories.
Ability to analyze lighting, audio, and video equipment functions and troubleshoot problems in high-pressure situations.
Knowledge of stage construction materials, tools, and practices.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Competent designing with AutoCAD/Vectorworks (including spotlight) and Q-lab.
5 years of experience working in theatre design/electrics/scene shops/stage management or run crews
Experience with production and post-production software, including Adobe Creative Cloud, RenewedVision ProPresenter, Logic Pro X, and Avid ProTools.
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience in audio, video, and lighting production systems.

BPAC electrics crew, scene shop workers, costume shop workers, run crews, recording assistant student work study.
