San Diego Christian College is looking for an exemplary leader to serve the institution as its 11th president as we prepare to celebrate 50 years of equipping students academically with a biblical worldview to be culturally and globally involved. San Diego Christian College seeks an innovative, dynamic, collegial and spiritually sound individual to lead the college as president.
The President of San Diego Christian College is expected to embrace SDCC’s mission (Truth, Purpose, and Impact) and to provide strategic leadership in developing long-term initiatives that will advance this mission. The President must have the ability to effectively articulate these principles and values to the trustees, leadership team, faculty, staff, students, and other external constituencies.
•An evident, personal and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ which is demonstrated in a commitment to Christ-centered servant leadership that is integrated with faith and practice.
•A future-focused innovator who has a strong history of organizational leadership and will boldly lead new initiatives to empower SDCC for growth and expansion.
•Demonstrates a dedication to disciple-making, understands the felt needs of upcoming generations, and has a passion to see the next generation of Christian leaders live life abundantly.
•A personal understanding of and genuine commitment to SDCC’s doctrinal statement and community covenant.
•Since each student at SDCC will acquire a Biblical Worldview minor, the next President is expected to embrace and promote a Biblical Worldview that includes a high view of the inerrancy and authority of Scripture, a literal six-day creation, and the transforming power of the Cross of Jesus Christ.
•Either an earned terminal degree in a relevant discipline or an advanced degree with significant commensurate senior executive experience.
•The ability to balance grace and truth in leadership, exercises intentionality in conversations, and models humility that enables and inspires others.
•Demonstrates empathy and cultural intelligence and can work well with both male and female leadership, as well as a multi-cultural and ethnically diverse community.
•Substantial experience in accredited higher education institutions and experience with the responsibilities of the office of a college president, including sound fiscal responsibility with large budgets, and ability to build synergy with a college cabinet.
•Demonstrated success in fundraising and securing external funding.
•Significant evidence of experience in strategic planning and charting institutional vision.
•Experience in building partnerships involving churches, corporations, and other organizations.
•Understanding of the role a Christian college has in equipping servant leaders to impact the world for Christ.
