Lubbock Christian University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, faculty position as the Director of the University Library. The candidate will be expected to perform professional and administrative duties in leading, planning, implementing, and evaluating all library operations and services including:
Supervision of day-to-day library operation. Coordinates the affairs of the library in accordance with the purposes and policies of the university as stated in the catalog, student and faculty handbooks. Participates in formulating library policies and procedures
Working with library staff, department chairs and faculty to identify, evaluate and implement programs to improve library services and facilities
Teaching within the department as determined by liaison responsibilities
Collaborating with faculty and serves as liaison for collection development, assessment, planning, and improvement of information literacy instruction. Works to resolve faculty/student needs of the library
Commitment to the University’s Christian mission and core values
Minimum Master’s degree in library science from an ALA accredited institution
Professional experience in all levels of academic librarianship required (Minimum: 5-10 years)
Supervisory experience required
A committed follower of Jesus Christ and an Active member of a congregation of Churches of Christ
