Milligan College seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Addictions Counseling to begin January, 2020. Primary responsibilities include teaching in a Master’s level, year-round program in Counseling that has subspecialties that fulfill the educational requirements for licensed professional counselors and addictions counselors. Qualified candidates must 1) demonstrate excellence in classroom teaching as well as in advising and supervising graduate students; 2) possess or be prepared to secure a Tennessee license as a Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP); 3) possess or be prepared to secure a Tennessee license as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC); 4) have experience as a mental health provider for a minimum of 5 years, at least 2 of those years being in the field of Addictions Counseling; and 5) a willingness to maintain current content knowledge/expertise in mental health and addictions and a willingness to supervise students in their field experiences. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited institution.
It is essential that the candidate demonstrate the ability to integrate and articulate Christian faith within an academically grounded graduate counseling program residing in a liberal arts college. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, commitment to the College Mission, and a lifestyle consistent with the College’s goals.
