IWU’s John Wesley Honors College (JWHC) invites applications for a Coordinator of Programs & Student Formation. This full-time (11 month) administrative position helps to provide leadership and support for JWHC curricular programs, co-curricular initiatives, and student success programming. The Coordinator also manages the daily operations and student office staff of the JWHC. This position reports to and works closely with the Dean of the John Wesley Honors College.
The successful candidate must have an active Christian faith, a desire to share in an intentional, interdisciplinary honors community of Christian liberal learning, experience in higher education, and a graduate degree in a related field. In addition to strong interpersonal, management, analytical, verbal, writing, and editing skills, applicants should also have an interest in mentoring college students and an aptitude for creating student formation programming for an increasingly diverse student body.

Oversee various co-curricular initiatives: IWU’s annual undergraduate research conference (Celebration of Scholarship), the President’s Author Series, Aldersgate Book Prize, Athens & Jerusalem Seminar.
Direct the New Student Orientation experience for JWHC freshman in consultation with the CAS NSO committee and with the instructors for the first-semester Honors courses; coordinate pathways for student mentoring.
Manage the annual schedule of daily operations for the JWHC, including the supervision of a large student staff to assist with these endeavors.
Oversee school finances by monitoring spending and purchasing; processing requests for reimbursements, honoraria, etc.; and supervising credit card reconciliation.
Direct JWHC communications to internal and external audiences, including the JWHC website, blog, and Facebook page, the Aldersgate Review, and various other print and electronic mailings.
Assist the JWHC Dean in developing annual programming assessments and with special projects related to strategic planning.
According to Indiana Wesleyan University’s employment policy, all employees must possess a Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Master’s degree in a related field required.
An active and maturing Christian faith. Minimum of two years of experience working in higher education.
Familiarity with the nature and character of Christian liberal learning.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledgeable and experienced in Christian higher education and the cultural dynamics of university life.
Maintains a strong work ethic, is well organized, and able to manage multiple administrative responsibilities effectively in one’s daily work.
Personable, hospitable, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working with students and an enthusiasm for nurturing student success.
Proficient computer and data management skills.
Works well as part of a team and values collaboration and consensus.
