The School of Missions and Ministries at Louisiana College invites applications for a Visiting Professor of Old Testament position starting Fall 2019.
Description of Position
The qualified candidate must demonstrate an active Christian faith and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 along with the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. The successful candidate should demonstrate competence in the academic study of the Old Testament and be current in the Old Testament field of study and demonstrate the ability to engage students actively and to contribute to an academic learning community both in a classroom and online.
The successful candidate will be required to teach at least 12 hours each semester, including Old Testament Survey, Old Testament exegesis, upper-level Hebrew courses, and other courses as needed.
Preferred: Ph.D. in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible or closely related fields. ABD will be considered.
Louisiana College is a private, Baptist, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences with selected professional programs, located in Pineville, Louisiana. The College was founded in 1906 and is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Louisiana Baptist Convention. It has an enrollment of about 1,200 students and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
