Trinity Christian College invites applications for a part-time adjunct position in Education beginning in Fall 2019 to teach in our graduate ESL/BE courses in our Special Education Diverse Learners Program.
Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside of the classroom through advising and other informal academic and cultural settings.
This is a part-time adjunct faculty role teaching in the graduate program. Specific teaching assignments will be based on areas of experience and expertise. Hybrid courses are: Foundations of ESL and Bilingual Education, Teaching Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students, Methods and Materials for Teaching English Language Learners, and Assessment of English Language Learners and Bilingual Students. Online courses are Methods and Materials for Teaching Bilingual Students and Linguistics. Two courses are taught each term including the summer term. The summer term courses are online. Additional responsibilities include the opportunity to mentor graduate students through self-directed projects.
Compensation is at the rate or $935 a credit hour.

Trinity Christian College is a four-year liberal arts college located in Palos Heights, Illinois, a suburb twenty miles southwest of Chicago. Since its founding in 1959, Trinity has provided its students with an excellent Christian higher education in the Reformed tradition. The College enrollment in the traditional program is about 1,100 with a vibrant residential program. We offer majors in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, as well as professional programs in accounting and business administration, nursing, education, computer science, pre-medicine, and pre-law. Ph.D. or Ed.D. in ESL/BE. The ideal candidate has teaching experience in a K-12 setting in ESL, Bilingual and/or dual-language Spanish immersion classrooms. Previous college-level teaching is desired.
