This position requires a strong desire to serve students in furtherance of the University’s mission and a personal commitment to serve Christ is paramount. The Assistant Registrar will assist in the regular on-going functions of the Office of the Registrar. Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong technical skills are essential to the position.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee regular academic functions of the Registrar’s Office, including maintaining and updating academic records and files for current and former students, registration, change of registration, notification of student holds, processing of transcript requests, grade entry, enrollment verifications, and grade reports.
Processing forms such as academic petitions, name change, address change, FERPA forms and so on.
Perform transcript evaluations and maintain and update transfer evaluation systems.
Update transfer entries, degree audit information, and other database management tasks.
Formulate, facilitate, maintain and update Articulation Agreements with other colleges and universities.
Perform certification and record keeping duties as a Veterans Affairs Certifying Official.
Provide both regular and on-request reports.
Monitor, maintain, and update the registrar web site.
Serve on the Website Content Managers Committee, General Education Committee, Retention Committee, and other committee assignments as determined by the Registrar.
Provide accurate and timely information in response to telephone, email, and personal inquiries. This includes monitoring department communications.
Support training and dissemination of information to faculty, staff and students regarding policies, processes, deadlines and legal guidelines (e.g. FERPA).
Oversee classroom usage and scheduling.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Registrar.
Experience and Qualification Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Significant experience in Higher Education administration support and a successful track record of technical support in Registrar duties preferred. Extensive administrative experience, preferably in higher education, may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
Strong computer skills with a high level of competency using software including, but not limited to, Word (or word processing), Excel (or spreadsheets), PowerPoint, databases, and Outlook.
Effective organization skills.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using tact, patience, and courtesy with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to manage interruptions and multiple concurrent projects.
Active membership and engagement in a local Christian congregation is essential, as are agreement with and support for the “Theological Context for NCU Community Life” statement.

This position may require lifting up to 25 lbs, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling.
This position involves infrequent evening or weekend work.
