The Division of Fine Arts / Music at Louisiana College seeks to fill a non-tenure appointment to begin August 1, 2019.
Description of Position:
The Department of Music is a rapidly growing entity on the campus of Louisiana College and is seeking a qualified musician, conductor, and leader to be appointed as Director of Bands for the 2019-2020 academic year. This position is a non-tenure appointment.
The qualified candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional musicianship, quality leadership, and a Christ-centered educational mindset that permeates the duties for the position.
The position will require the conducting of the Louisiana College Wildcat Marching Band, the Red River Wind Symphony, the LC Wind Ensemble, and various courses within the B.M. K-12 Education-Instrumental Music curriculum including, but not limited to, conducting, various methods courses, Instrumental Music in Secondary Schools, and others based on the applicants abilities. Private lessons may be required as well, based on the instrumental background of the applicant.
The candidate will also be responsible for assisting with all college and departmental recruiting efforts which include, but are not limited to, Preview Day, Front of the Line, school recruitment visits, Department of Music SHOWCASE, Department of Music Audition Days, and other creative recruitment opportunities as needed.

Louisiana College is a private, Baptist, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences with selected professional programs, located in Pineville, Louisiana. The College was founded in 1906 and is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Louisiana Baptist Convention. It has an enrollment of about 1,200 students and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
A successful applicant must hold a Masters degree in music, preferably Instrumental Conducting or Music Education with considerable amounts of time of teaching experience. D.M.A. or Ph.D. in Conducting or Music Education preferred.
