This is an administrative position with faculty rank responsible for assisting the Director of NP programs in the administration and oversight of the clinical elements of the NP tracks and management of the on-campus residency. The position includes teaching load. Provides oversight in the development, planning, organization, directing, and controlling of activities as assigned by the Directors of NP Programs and Graduate Nursing Programs, and gives leadership to 680 clinical faculty in cooperation with the Director of NP Programs.
I. Curriculum and Blackboard Course Functions a. Recommends and participates in implementing 680 curriculum improvements. b. Recommends and facilitates improvements to Blackboard Shells. c. Maintains 680 Blackboard class (post weekly announcements, monitor assignment settings, monitor general discussion boards). d. Maintains the 680-syllabus. e. Serves as a liaison between faculty and instructional design for clinical courses.
II. NUR 680 Faculty a. Provide faculty in-service training on 680 changes as needed b. Deliver faculty development and evaluation as needed c. Provide faculty training as requested. d. Serve as a resource person to staff and faculty for clinical curriculum questions.
III. NUR 680 Students a. Monitor students’ academic progress through 680. b. Monitor students’ professional behavior and escalates unresolved issues to the Director of NP Programs. c. Process student petitions such as for In Progress (IP) courses. d. Review and approve clinical site paperwork. e. Initiate and implement Professional Competency Profile (PCP) action plans.
IV. Residency a. Cooperate with Nursing personnel in planning and organizing residencies. b. Attends and participates as directed in residencies.
V. Committee Membership a. Participates in university committees per policy.
VI. Assessment Functions a. Work with the directors of NP programs and graduate nursing programs on the continual development, implementation, and coordination of the Department of Nursing assessment plans for graduate programs.
VII. Special Projects a. As determined by the Directors and Chair of the Nursing Department.
VIII. Meetings a. Graduate nursing faculty meetings. b. Clinical faculty orientation meetings. c. Nursing Department Leadership Meetings. d. Monthly MSN meetings. e. Monthly clinical faculty meetings. f. President’s community meetings. g. Attends commencement. h. All-college retreat.
IX. Other duties as assigned
Serves as a member of the Department of Nursing, directly reporting to the Director of NP Programs and Director of Graduate Nursing Programs.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities as directed in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Master of Science in Nursing required, DNP or PhD preferred, NP License required with minimum one-year experience; FNP preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Should be experienced in graduate nursing programs for adult learners and be able to demonstrate managerial expertise.
A successful college teaching record and/or curriculum development experience are preferred but not required.
Experience with the development and delivery of online instruction is preferred.
Ability to prioritize, complete multiple tasks and possess good interpersonal communication with individual and groups, possessing good writing skills, and can work well with a wide range of external and internal constituents.
Good organizational & word processing skills necessary.
Experience with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word required. Attention to detail is essential.
