Huntington University seeks qualified candidates to be a faculty member and academic coordinator of its developing Physician Assistant (PA) Master’s Program. The successful candidate will lead the development of didactic experiences and curriculum and teach in the program in a university that enjoys a fine reputation. The program will be housed on the campus of Huntington University in Huntington, IN. The academic coordinator will help create a first class learning environment that results in graduate’s successful practice. The PA program will complement high-quality undergraduate nursing, pre-med and occupational therapy assistant programs and a graduate OTD program.
Candidates must have a strong personal Christian commitment within evangelical Christianity, an understanding of the relationship of faith and professional practice, a commitment to stewardship and a strong desire to serve others. PA licensure (or eligibility for licensure in Indiana) and evidence of clinical practice and research activities in professional health care organizations are required. The candidate must also have a commitment to developing a physician assistant practice curriculum based on the mission of the University that exemplifies Christian ethics, compassion and service and must demonstrate successful teaching and development experience in the field.
Key areas of responsibility include developing curriculum and didactic experiences that lead students to excellence in practice, mentoring students, evaluating student learning outcomes, teaching in the program and contributing to the overall success of the program.
