Health Science Assistant Professor
The College of Humanities and Sciences at North Greenville University invites applicants for the position of assistant professor of Health Science, beginning August 2019.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in one of the following fields: nutrition, public health, exercise physiology, community health, kinesiology, or gerontology. Skills related to grant writing and health science related research will be considered a plus.
The position will include full-time office hours, advising, and committee and other departmental service responsibilities as necessary. Candidates should be prepared to offer ideas for research collaborations with undergraduates and a willingness to include students in research, both related to and independent of the classroom. The successful candidate will also possess a proven record of and passion for teaching, mentoring, and inspiring health science undergraduate students while preparing them for a variety of careers in the fields of health and exercise sciences. Candidates will be expected to have experience in or provide evidence of excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to those who have a record of scholarly or professional publications. Although the primary focus of faculty at NGU is teaching, some research with students is expected in the department.
