POSITION: Full-time, tenure-track position beginning Fall 2019
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION INFORMATION: Asbury University announces a tenure-track faculty position in Educational Leadership in the School of Education to begin in August, 2019. The program seeks a professor with expertise in educational leadership with preference given to those with added expertise in Special Education or Instructional Technology. This faculty position includes teaching, advising and mentoring bachelors- and masters-level students, and working collaboratively with the School of Education team. A passion for teaching, both online and face-to-face is desired. Five (5) years teaching and administrative experience in P-12 education required with preference given to experience in the KY school system.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach graduate level coursework in educational leadership, other undergraduate and graduate coursework associated with area of experience/expertise. Advise and mentor teacher candidates. Supervise student clinical work in public schools. Conduct research and scholarly activities in areas of expertise. Contribute to program development including accreditation work. Serve on university, school, and program committees. Other related duties as assigned.
ACADEMIC RANK: Appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level is anticipated. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate (EdD./Ph.D.) in educational leadership or a related field, from an accredited university; ABD considered. Potential for or established record of scholarship, research, and publication expected. Ability to successfully participate in grant writing in the area of teacher education. Commitment to collaborative partnerships with P-12 school communities. Commitment to collaboration with colleagues. 5 years teaching & administration experience in P-12 environment, preference given to experience in KY schools. Preference given to candidates who have experience with on-line instruction.
