The College of Arts and Sciences Division of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor faculty position in Spanish language and Latino/Latin American Studies. The position will join a small, dynamic, and collaborative department that offers a range of language- and culture-based courses and an eight-week study abroad program in Cuenca, Ecuador.
The professor will teach six courses (24 semester hours) per academic year in the Spanish language, which may include beginning levels to more advanced courses in language, literature, and culture; Spanish for Heritage Speakers; and Latin American Studies (taught in Spanish or English).
Candidates should be native or near-native speakers of Spanish and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and academic scholarship. A Ph.D. in a field of Spanish language, literature, cultural studies, or equivalent is required at the time of appointment.
