Booth University College, a small and dynamic undergraduate Christian institution in the heart of Winnipeg, Canada, with a commitment to “Education for a Better World”, is seeking an innovative and energetic academic administrator to provide leadership as our next Dean of the School for Continuing Studies.
Reporting to the Vice President Academic, the Dean of the School for Continuing Studies (SCS) provides leadership for and management of the School. While Booth University College has been involved in distance education for decades, the School for Continuing Studies in its present format was launched in 2014. This is a significant opportunity for an individual with creativity and passion to envision and lead the continued growth of the SCS locally, nationally and internationally, in alignment with the mission and strategic plan of Booth University College.
Key responsibilities include development, implementation, and assessment of academic, leadership, and professional development programs; promotion of the school; recruitment of qualified instructors and facilitators for SCS offerings; management of SCS budgets and oversight of the recruitment and retention of students for the various program offerings.
The Dean fulfills a significant leadership role in the university college as a member of Booth University College Cabinet and also serves on Senate. The successful candidate will hold a graduate degree and a firm commitment to the mission of Booth University College with a demonstrated ability to integrate Christian faith within the workplace. Five years or more of progressive leadership/management experience will enable the Dean to manage both strategic and operational matters, and to develop and maintain networks and partnerships to facilitate goal accomplishment. Preferred qualifications include a doctorate, experience with the development of on-line and hybrid courses, and experience in Christian higher education.
