Trinity Christian College seeks a full-time Student Ministries Coordinator for the Semester in Spain Program. The Student Ministries Coordinator supervises ministry services in the Semester in Spain study-abroad program in Spain, oversees student co-curricular activities and provides service-learning opportunities for students in the program.
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee ministry activities for students in the progam that will pose reflective challenges while they are in Spain, engage them to integrate their faith with classroom learning, and nurture them to utilize their experience in Spain to promote Christ-like service when they return home.
Plan and provide leadership in a weekly praise, worship, and reflection time ("Encuentro") that strengthens students’ personal experiences in Spain, helps them meet Spanish Christians, and reinforces what it means to be a believer studying abroad.
Counsel students on issues relating to homesickness, anxiety, relationships, spiritual challenges, and re-entry.
Offer a service learning course, coordinate and supervise service learning sites, and develop student programming for service projects at these sites.
Collaborate with staff in offering an extra-curricular program and accompany students on all-school group excursions.
Support and assist the marketing director in presenting the program on social media by frequently taking, supplying, and posting photos and videos of students in co-curricular activities.
Nurture students to take the lead in Encuentro, and mentor students in their service learning placements.
A Bachelors degree is required, preferrably in Spanish, ministry, or related area of study. Experience as a student in study abroad in Spain, such as SIS, is highly desirable. Exhibit a commitment to living a Christ-centered life in Seville. Student leadership development experience, musical abilities, photography, and experience with social networking sites are desirable strengths. Demonstrate maturity to work with college students and Spanish staff that includes professors and other professionals. Must be fluent in Spanish.
