Bethel College (Soon to be Bethel University) is seeking a Masters in Counseling Director/ Lead Faculty. The position will have a 2-course release load for serving as the CACREP coordinator. This is a full-time 12-month faculty contract starting Fall 2019.
Prepare and deliver lessons to graduate students within the prescribed curriculum with overt faith integration. Stimulate class discussions and facilitate learning in the on-ground or online classroom.
Assess student performance in accordance with College Assessment Practices.
Remain current in the field of mental health counseling, counselor education, and effective teaching techniques.
Maintain course teaching load each semester, teach blended format, face to face and online.
Will lead efforts to achieve CACREP accreditation and will assist with all CACREP accreditation processes and program development and maintenance.
Offer curriculum recommendations for all CACREP-related content and program evaluation and/or revision.
Support adherence to CACREP standards and policies.
Work with other Counseling faculty to pursue leads and to evaluate and review all program applications
Maintain an active Mental Health Counseling or Licensed Professional Counselor license.
Show evidence of advocacy/professional service, research or scholarly activities in counseling.
Support the integrity of the Bethel College mission and educational learning outcomes.
Support the mission, goals, and curriculum of the of school counselor education program.
Perform other duties as directed by the Faculty Chair/Director of Academic Programs for the College, centered on teaching, service, and scholarship.
Collaborate with other colleges as needed.
Candidates must possess a doctoral degree from a counselor education program, preferably from a CACREP accredited program.
Candidates must have a minimum of two to three years' experience working with CACREP accreditation and maintenance of CACREP standards.
Candidates must also be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPS) or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana (or be eligible to obtain the counseling license in the state of Indiana).
Candidates must give evidence of identification with the counseling profession through memberships, credentials, professional development, service, and scholarly activities.
Candidates must have good planning and organizational skills with the ability to anticipate potential problems or obstacles and the ability to resolve.
Candidates must demonstrate a passion for Christian higher education.
